Officers from the Rockville Police Department were called shortly before 8 p.m. on Tuesday night to a home in the unit block of Pebble Ridge Court, where a strange - and scary -  scene played out involving an active armed robber who forced his way inside.

Police say that the man - whose name has not been released - rang the doorbell and when the homeowner answered, presumably expecting a trick-or-treater, he forced way inside the house until he was fended off and the property was secured with an assist by a neighbor.

Arriving officers were able to detain the 23-year-old man who was arrested without further incident and charges are pending.
